Catholic men seriously considering preparation for the Roman Catholic priesthood and priestly service are eligible to seek admission. All men need to be accepted by their respective diocese and Providence College before being accepted by the Seminary of Our Lady of Providence. Each candidate gains final acceptance from the Rector of the seminary.
Acceptance at the Seminary of Our Lady of Providence is contingent upon review and approval of the following items of documentation:
- Seminary Application Form
- Diocesan Acceptance letter from the Bishop (or Vocation Director)
- Providence College Acceptance letter, based on the following criteria:
- Transcripts/GPA/Class Ranking
- Test Scores – ACT or SAT
- Personal Essay
- A Copy of Baptismal & Confirmation Certificates
- Two Letters of Recommendation (One from Pastor; one from teacher or employer)
- Psychological Assessment Inclusive of a Clinical Interview
- Report of Physical Evaluation
- Each application will be reviewed promptly and the applicant will be informed of acceptance or non-acceptance as soon as possible
- Application deadline is June 1, without special arrangements.
